LinkedIn Recognizes Amanda Carroll on Inaugural “Next Wave” List
LinkedIn’s Next Wave list recognizes top professionals 35 and under who are changing the way we do business
NEW YORK — LinkedIn named Amanda Carroll, studio director and technology practice area leader at Gensler, to its inaugural “Next Wave” list. This list highlights 150 professionals, ages 35 and under, who are changing 15 different industries through brilliant ideas, driven management and entrepreneurial spirit. In a network of more than 380 million professionals, surfacing 150 names isn’t a small task. LinkedIn relied on a combination of data, editorial insights and influencer ideas to forge the list, recognizing Carroll as one of the 10 stars influencing the real estate industry.
Carroll, a licensed interior designer, leads the technology practice area at Gensler, the largest design firm in the world. The 32-year-old dreams up office spaces for some of the hottest and fastest-growing companies around. Carroll’s client list is proof of her broad appeal, spanning everyone from the techy nonprofit TED to indie-darling Etsy and power players like Hulu, Adobe, IBM and more. Her designs are frequently cited by the press, including Business Insider, Architectural Record, Interior Design Magazine, Contract and Metropolis.
“Since moving to New York I’ve been carried out of a burning building by a firefighter, survived displacement from two hurricanes, endured six moves to seven different apartments over 10 years in Manhattan before recently moving to Brooklyn. Come hell or high water this is my town,” said Carroll. “I’m honored to be a part of this inaugural LinkedIn NextWave class that is doing extraordinary work, transforming their fields and creating a positive impact on the world. As the only architectural design firm candidate, this distinction highlights the importance and impact of great design on global business and more importantly, human potential.”
Gensler’s recent projects of note in New York include Condé Nast’s Headquarters at One World Trade, One Soho Square and Etsy’s Headquarters in DUMBO Heights.
