BMO Field

Toronto, Canada

To expand Canada’s first soccer-specific stadium and the MLS home of Toronto FC, the club partnered with Gensler to increase permanent seat capacity from 21,000 to 30,000, with additional temporary seating for special events to accommodate up to 40,000 fans. Improvements include additional general admission seating decks, suites and club areas, as well as interior alterations to locker rooms, a new Tunnel Club, an expanded Rogers Club and a new video board. Construction to the revamped stadium added a new Premier League-style roof canopy and modifications accommodating Canadian Football League play, including a natural and artificial turf hybrid, dedicated locker rooms, and removable South grandstands. BMO Field is now the new home of the Toronto Argonauts and will host the CFL’s Grey Cup in 2016.
