Charlotte Chamber of Commerce

Charlotte, North Carolina

Serving as Charlotte’s “front door,” the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce reasoned that if people could more clearly see its inner workings and member companies, the organization would gain insights into the city’s business community. The Chamber partnered with Gensler to transform its outdated, uninspiring headquarters into a hub of information, activity and energy. Rather than relocate, the Chamber acquired additional square footage on the ground floor of its prominent uptown location. Thanks to full–height glass that wraps around the new street–level space, passersby can see events inside. The modern environment is suffused with daylight, clean lines and interactive settings—a space with greater visibility and transparency.
