Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph Hotel

Columbus, Ohio

Owned by The Pizzuti Companies and operated by Wischermann Partners, The Joseph is a Le Méridien-branded hotel located in Columbus’ Short North Arts District. Blending references to the city’s rich ethnic heritage and landscape with the refined sensibility of modern art, Gensler created a hospitality experience unique to Columbus. The project team provided full interior design services to create signature spaces, fusing industrial elements and opulent materials with idiosyncrasy—refined coexists artfully with craft and found objects. The result is a guest experience at once evocative of a museum and a residence. The new build opened in January 2015 as an 11-story boutique hotel featuring 135 guestrooms, world-class art from the Columbus-based Pizzuti collection and two luxury spa suites.
