Mullen President John Fitzgerald believed advertising clients should “understand our culture just by stepping in to our space.” With just 24 working days and a $19.00 per-square-foot renovation budget, Gensler met that directive by reusing existing materials and adding glass, crisp white paint, and expansive pin-up space. This created a simplistic and neutral envelope that allows creativity to be displayed, developed, and critiqued at any moment. Gensler completed the design process – transforming a totally closed-office environment into a 75-percent open plan – within budget and on schedule, producing a space that exceeds client expectations and improves employee morale.
