Patriots Plaza

Washington, D.C.

Patriots Plaza, the first speculative office complex to meet post-9/11 security requirements, represents a building that offers appealing workspace aesthetics, while incorporating sustainable design principles. A main goal of the project was maximizing energy efficiency, particularly through effective lighting design and bringing natural light deep into workspaces. Now fully leased to the GSA on behalf of various agencies, the one-million-square-foot, three-building complex offers a range of critical security features that exceed government standards. Gensler worked with several agencies, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), which occupies 400,000 square feet, in the interior built-out of the tenant spaces.
