Port of Long Beach

Long Beach, California

Seeking to exemplify environmental leadership while meeting its operational and functional needs, the Port of Long Beach sought a new campus maintenance facility that would consolidate personnel and enhance worker productivity. Sustainable strategies leading to LEED® Gold certification include a 350kW rooftop photovoltaic array, radiant heating and cooling slabs, glazed high-bay overhead doors and rooftop skylights that introduce glare-free daylight deep into the building. The facility houses vehicle repair bays, a receiving warehouse, administrative offices, meeting spaces and staff locker rooms.
