As architects, designers, planners and consultants, we partner with our clients on some 3,000 projects every year. These projects can be as small as a wine label or as large as a new urban district. With 2,000+ professionals networked across more than 30 locations, we serve our clients as trusted advisors, combining localized expertise with global perspective wherever new opportunities arise. Our work reflects an enduring commitment to sustainability and the belief that design is one of the most powerful strategic tools for securing lasting competitive advantage.

Redefining
What's Possible

At our core we embody an entrepreneurial spirit, always looking ahead for new ways to innovate and add to our clients' success.

We believe design has the power to transform organizations and change lives. It's a principle that guides us today as it did from the beginning.

The Innovator

Architecture was a different business when Art Gensler founded the firm in 1965. Back then, it was conventional for architects to think of their work as "their" buildings. Art saw it differently.

Art felt buildings should belong to their owners and tenants. He realized then that thoughtfully designed environments could support business as a strategic operational tool.

With a client-centric perspective that was contrary to the times, Art founded Gensler and eventually elevated the practice of interior design to professional standing.

Uncommon People, Unparalleled Resources

If there's a commonality between our recent work and the past, it's the Gensler people behind the pioneering projects. For most design firms, having a name architect matters above all else. But complex projects demand many "names," so we've intentionally built our firm around a constellation of design stars.

Each of them is possessed of a talent and imagination that drives the firm to create a world that elevates the everyday.

What’s in Store

Our Web site represents our latest attempt to transcend the conventional. Here, we intend to take a different approach to featuring our work and celebrating our clients' achievements.

To start we give you three home page Features of projects and trends redefining what's possible through the power of design.

First, we'll visit Dubai as it builds up to global status and then Los Angeles, where a new complex is remaking a once prestigious address. We also look at how urban centers around the U.S. are regenerating street life with an engaging mix of retail, entertainment and accessible transit options.
