Gensler's Washington, D.C., Office Adds Noted Architects to its Residential Practice
Phil Esocoff, FAIA, and Amy Weinstein, FAIA, will serve as co-leaders for Gensler DC’s residential practice area.
WASHINGTON – Phil Esocoff and Amy Weinstein of Esocoff & Associates/Weinstein Studio will join Gensler’s Washington, D.C., office Dec. 1 as co-practice area leaders for the residential practice area. Esocoff and Weinstein are both established architects in the Washington, D.C., community with a successful track record of executing residential projects that meet market needs and stand the test of time. Their expertise will enable Gensler to capitalize more fully on mixed-use projects that include a residential component, both locally and in the surrounding region.
“We are so excited that Phil and Amy will be joining our team,” said Jordan Goldstein, principal and co-managing director of Gensler’s Washington, D.C., office. “At a time when the live/work/play ideal is in high demand from consumers and businesses, they will provide Gensler with broader residential expertise and leadership to further develop highly functional mixed-use projects that create instant communities.”
When Esocoff and Weinstein officially join Gensler, most of their current projects will migrate to the firm as well. Prior to founding Esocoff & Associates 20 years ago, Esocoff was a principal with Florance Eichbaum Esocoff King (formerly Keyes Condon Florance) and was with the firm for more than 16 years. Weinstein was a principal of Weinstein Associates Architects for 20 years, and she has been a principal with Esocoff & Associates for eight years. Esocoff and Weinstein’s notable residential and mixed-use projects include 400 Massachusetts Avenue; 401/425 Massachusetts Avenue, Hine (700 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE); The Jefferson at Penn Quarter; 1010 Massachusetts Avenue; The Beacon (Arlington, Va.); and The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, The Brookings Institution and The Gables Apartments.
“In joining Gensler, we foresee an outstanding opportunity to enhance and expand our long term commitment to create vibrant, contemporary communities that enrich people’s lives while fully achieving our clients’ goals,” said Esocoff.
