Sciences Leader, Health Sector Leader, Design Director, Principal

Chad is a Design Principal and Gensler’s Global Practice Leader of Sciences. He believes that design is about three simple ideas: Design must be purposeful; design needs to work and work well, be compelling, and it should shift the way people think and feel; and design should tell a story — an extraordinary story about our clients, their goals, or their beliefs. Chad has shaped a diverse range of environments from life science campuses and buildings, office towers, hotels, food and beverage retail, to the interiors of technology and life science companies. His client list comprises local, national, and global companies, with projects ranging from 500 to more than 3,000,000 square feet.

Originally from Honolulu, Chad earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon and has been practicing in the Pacific Northwest for over 25 years. He has been honored with a multitude of awards for his work and frequently shares his extensive industry experience and insights as a speaker on local and national stages.
