Doug leads the building transformation and adaptive reuse focus in Gensler’s San Francisco office. Fascinated by how environments influence people and fueled by a natural curiosity about how change affects our world, Doug focuses his research and work on helping his clients, Gensler, and the industry understand how to prepare for the future. With an expertise in workplace design, Doug is a frequent speaker and writer on design. He has spoken internationally on the influence of technology, sustainability, and demographic changes on the evolution of work. Doug’s projects have been recognized in international design publications, as well as design excellence award programs. A Registered Architect, Doug earned a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in Architecture from California Polytechnic State University. His work is marked by his ability to rethink the problem, not just the solution.
