With more than 40 years in architecture, Phil is committed to creating vibrant, contemporary environments that enrich people’s lives and achieve client goals. This belief, combined with a keen eye for timeless residential and mixed-use design, has inspired the creation of numerous award-winning projects. Phil’s expertise provides a broad residential design knowledge base and experience developing highly functional mixed-use projects that foster dynamic communities. Prior to joining Gensler, Phil founded Esocoff & Associates in 1995 for the pursuit of excellence in design for higher education, institutional, and mixed-use residential projects. His firm’s work received more than 60 design awards and was published in national and international architectural journals. Phil’s notable residential, institutional, and mixed-use projects include Senate Square, The Jefferson at Penn Quarter, The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Torgersen Hall at Virginia Tech, NTSB’s Research and Training Center at George Washington University Ashburn, Georgetown High School Innovation Lab, 2401 Pennsylvania Avenue, and The Brookings Institution.
