Capital One Labs

Arlington, Virginia

Visit Capital One Labs D.C.-area location on any given day, and you’re likely to see a number of workplace configurations. Capital One turned to the concept of a city grid as inspiration. In their two-floor build-out, this concept is realized via a system of sliding panels that enable fully open to fully closed workplace configurations. The panels run along a system of overhead rails that form a latticework of metaphorical streets, alleys, and a central boulevard. When combined with the space’s furniture and AV units — both of which are outfitted with wheels — the rails-and-panels system allows for the creation of zones than can easily expand and contract to accommodate different team sizes, shifting creative needs, and experimental processes.
