Eastwood Academy

Eastwood Academy, a K-12 school in the planned city of Lusail in Qatar, will be an immersive, sustainable and innovative environment that expands Beirut-based Eastwood College's future-oriented educational mission. Taking its inspiration from the dhow, a traditional Arabic sailboat, Gensler’s education design team designed the academic building to balance function and poetry with alternating elements of light, shade and transparency. A public plaza offers a subterranean pool and athletic center for after-hours use. Imagined as social hub for the community, the school’s lounges, library, and social spaces are designed to welcome parents and community while minimizing class disruption.
