Simple elegance defines Merit Energy’s new workplace. Recognized among the “Top 100 Places to Work” by The Dallas Morning News two consecutive years, the company sought to convey its brand in a clean, modern fashion. Designers transformed a nondescript internal staircase into a focal point at the building’s glass perimeter, illuminated at night to make it highly visible. By moving workstations to the perimeter, employees gain equal access to natural light as well as improved sight lines and transparency. Given limited outdoor amenities, the new breakroom resembles a terrace, with a wood trellis, outdoor seating and exposed ceilings.
