PNC Net Zero

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

PNC Bank, a green building innovator, decided to go beyond LEED to address larger goals of climate neutrality and long-term sustainability in a Net Zero energy branch. No easy task, a Net Zero branch, by definition, would produce enough power to meet its energy demands. For this challenge, PNC turned to Gensler.  With solar energy as the center of design, a solar canopy captures solar energy while providing shade inside and below for a more pedestrian friendly streetscape. Planted with all native Florida species, the site is traversed by a ¼ mile path, where the community can actively enjoy and explore the native habitat.
