Quiksilver

Huntington Beach, California

In designing Quiksilver’s new 130,000-square-foot workspace, Gensler focused on designing an energetic environment that is representative of the company’s reputation as the leading surf apparel and boardsport-related equipment manufacturer. Utilizing organic materials and a number of innovative design tactics, Gensler transformed one of Quiksilver’s distribution warehouses into a naturally lit workspace for its design group. Garage doors installed around the exterior of the building allow an abundance of natural light to flow through the space, while the office’s circular plan creates a central hub ideal for impromptu meetings and informal gathers. The resulting design is a casual and open environment where Quiksilver’s young, creative employees are encouraged to share ideas, listen to music and skate freely around the office.
