San Francisco Visitor Information Center

San Francisco, California

Though one of the most visited cities in the world, San Francisco’s Visitor Information Center was tired, dark and dirty. Gensler came in to give it a new and refreshed take. Eliminating the previous staff-behind-the-counter model, the new floorplan centralizes knowledgeable staff to improve circulation and create a more service-centric and interactive environment. Perimeter walls feature mural-size maps of the City and surrounding Bay Area, and touch-screen monitors draw customers through the space and, along with enhanced signage and accessibility, provide them with the information they seek in a bright, appealing environment. The revitalized center now provides a rich and engaging experience for travelers.
