SAY Sí Community Arts Center

San Antonio, Texas

SAY Sí (San Antonio Youth Yes) ignites the creative power of young people as forces of positive change, empowers marginalized communities by investing in and elevating the value of artists, and advances cultural education. Its creative youth development programs are year-round, long-term, and tuition-free. Gensler's team of San Antonio architects and designers are partnering with Say Sí to develop its five-acre site adjacent to Apache Creek, and renovate an existing 100,000-square-foot warehouse to transform it into a dynamic community arts center. The facility will hold spaces for theater, digital arts, comics, animation, film-making, photography, and visual arts. Exhibition spaces, performance spaces, food service, and retail are included. Proximity to the neighborhood and integration with the broader community will create more opportunities for indoor/outdoor connections and social gatherings through a new public green space.
