Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity

St. Paul, Minnesota

To accommodate the growing number of families in need of housing services, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity (TCHFH), one of the organization’s leading chapters, partnered with Gensler to develop a project approach and program tested in several locations within the city’s Central Corridor. TCHFH’s new home is a signature development within the Central Region, helping to clean up a former brownfield site and create a neighborhood hub for housing resources in the community. Inspired by local examples of affordable residential shelters and the urban context of St. Paul’s University Avenue, the design draws from influences of culture and community, with a simple massing that appropriately anchors this important urban corner.
