Gensler Welcomes Sports Design Leader Jon Niemuth

Veteran Sports Design Leader Joins Gensler Sports

LOS ANGELES, CA – Gensler announced today that Jon Niemuth, FAIA joins the global design and architecture firm as Director of Sports. Based in Los Angeles, Niemuth will work across Gensler Sports’ centers of excellence in Los Angeles, Austin, D.C., Seattle, and Costa Rica. He’s a dynamic design leader marrying beauty and function in developing sports facilities that are optimized for client’s business goals, community integration, and player performance. He has nearly three decades of experience in sports venue design, including arenas, stadiums, and practice and operations facilities for professional and collegiate teams.

Niemuth was most recently Vice-President for AECOM Sports, Americas where he led the programming and design of complex venues. His marquee projects include Intuit Dome - Los Angeles; Century Link Field- Seattle; Golden1 Center- Sacramento; and Baylor University Foster Pavilion. Jon is a Registered Architect, certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, LEED® Accredited Professional, a Sports Business Executive Fellow with Ohio University Center for Sports Administration College of Business, and holds a Master of Architecture and a Master of Urban Planning/Urban Design from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.
