CBI Art Wall

CBI is active in the local markets it serves, and its leadership strongly believes in giving back to the communities that make its business successful. With the recent popularity of the Light Rail in Charlotte, CBI saw an opportunity to give back to the community by activating its 100-foot white brick wall with local art. Its location — central to the Lower-South End revitalization and highly visible along the Light Rail — needed an identity, and the mural’s bold design created an opportunity to move the neighborhood in a new direction. Understanding the value of collaboration, Gensler launched an internal design competition and brought in public art coordinator Gökotta to engage local artists. Artist Osiris Rain was selected to partner and bring Gensler’s winning art wall design concept to life.
