Cedars-Sinai Wayfinding

Los Angeles, California

As Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (CSMC) has grown in size and complexity, it has become necessary to develop a system to help patients, visitors and staff navigate their way through care and services. Cedars-Sinai asked Gensler to develop a wayfinding program, with a scope encompassing access to the center, navigation to and from satellite locations, placement of treatment and services, internal site navigation and parking. Extensive research with multiple user groups, including surveys, focus groups, impromptu interviews and on-site observations, yielded a comprehensive plan with wayfinding recommendations that can be effective consistently across all CSMC facilities.
