FirstEnergy Stadium had become incongruous with a team undergoing significant change. In embarking on a plan to upgrade the stadium, the Cleveland Browns’ organization sought a more energetic venue for both the team and its fans. The new graphic program energizes public concourses and refines the stadium’s premium levels. Working from a diverse, but limited pool of source images, Gensler’s design team developed and layered a flexible graphic language that tells a consistent brand story throughout the stadium—echoing the boisterous voices of Browns fans, illustrating the team’s storied past, and reflecting the dynamic momentum of a city in renaissance.
