Replacing a two-story building on its existing 18-acre campus, this U.S. headquarters is Hyundai Motor America’s (HMA) largest project undertaking. The square "floating" building offers an open courtyard and is encased in a glass and metal curtain wall, materials reflective of the automotive industry. Aside from open offices, the HMA headquarters includes a showroom, automotive tech center and a parking structure. The HMA workplace strategy was based on a rigorous research process conducted by Gensler’s design team. It addresses the workplace as a strategic tool for creating a more effective and successful organization.
