LA Metro Integrated Station Design Solutions

The host city for the 2028 Olympics, Los Angeles is currently undertaking one of the largest transit system expansions in North America, with eight new or expanded lines and over fifty new transit stations in design or under construction. In order to enhance the passenger experience and maintainability of stations throughout the existing and planned network, Gensler is working as LA Metro’s lead consultant on developing Integrated Station Design Solutions in the aim of delivering a system base, which will be rolled out to all light-rail, heavy-rail, and bus rapid transit stations as they are built or updated. Project elements included enhanced accessibility features, easier-to-maintain station finishes, energy-efficient lighting, drought-tolerant landscaping, solar energy generation, and custom-designed station furnishings.
