Lark Restaurant

As one of Seattle’s premier, artisan-focused restaurants, Lark is renowned for its locally sourced, authentic dining. When the owners decided to expand operations and move their James Beard award-winning chef to a new location, they hired Gensler to design a “second generation” space worthy of the restaurant’s growing stature. Sited in a rehabilitated storage facility, the renovated space maintains its turn-of-the-century Pacific Northwest construction, exposing heavy timber framing, bowed wood trusses and plank wood deck floors. Incorporating functional design gestures that are handcrafted to blend with the original structure, the new locale evokes the comfortable, local-to-Seattle feel that Lark was built upon, while creating a home for its maturing dining experience.
