Regional Managing Principal, Director of Community Impact

As Co-Managing Principal of Gensler’s North Central Region, Lamar provides leadership to Gensler’s Chicago, La Crosse, Detroit and Minneapolis offices; he is also a member of the Firmwide Management Committee. A Registered Architect in 37 states, Lamar has extensive experience in the planning, design and construction of a broad range of project types. Under his management, Gensler was the first Chicago firm to receive both Architecture and Interior Design Firm of the Year from the Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards; and his commitment to social responsibility and sustainable design contributed to the firm’s receipt of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership Award. Actively involved with multiple civic, community and not-for-profit organizations, Lamar is a Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Adler Museum; a member of the Board of Directors for World Business Chicago; and active in World 50, an organization for senior-most executives from globally respected companies. In 2009, the Real Estate Council of the City of Hope Hospital honored Lamar as its Man of the Year. He earned his Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
