Marty is a Firmwide Leader of Gensler’s global Entertainment and Planning & Urban Design Practices and a Principal in Gensler’s Los Angeles office. With more than three decades of experience in urban planning and large-scale design, he provides leadership in the design and planning of entertainment and urban development projects around the world. Marty focuses on solving complex design problems in today’s urban environments, with an emphasis on mixed-use developments, city building and themed attractions. He is a member of the Entertainment Council of the Urban Land Institute, and is a frequent speaker on the subjects of urban design, entertainment and placemaking. Locally, Marty is a Board member of the Downtown Breakfast Club, contributes time and outreach to the Hope Street Family Center, and is active in the Los Angeles Chamber and the Westside Urban Forum. Marty holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon and a Master of Architecture and Urban Design from UCLA.
