Design Director, Principal
A Design Director and Principal in Gensler’s New York office, EJ is known throughout the industry for her elegant, timeless design solutions that bring clarity and refinement to complex projects. With 30 years of experience, she has shaped interiors that blend sophistication with functionality across sectors, with a strong focus in designing for clients in the financial sector including Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, and Wells Fargo, as well iconic brands like Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oréal, and The New York Times.
EJ’s interiors are not just beautiful—they’re enduring, contextual, and deeply intentional. She was awarded the Interior Design Magazine Honoring Industry People (HiP) Lifetime of HiPness award (2025), as well as the HiP Workplace Leader award (2022). As a fellow of IIDA, she is a highly accredited leader and has spoken at industry conferences for the AIA, Okamura, and the New York Design Center. Her work has been recognized by numerous national and international publications, including The New York Times, Metropolis, Fast Company, Interiors and Interior Design magazines.
EJ’s previous role as Adjunct Professor at Pratt Institute for over 20 years, and her mentorship at Gensler exemplifies her passion for shaping the next generation of designers. Prior to this role, EJ attended Ewha Womans University and the Pratt Institute, where she received a Bachelor’s in Interior and a Master’s of Science in Interior Design, respectively.
