Randy Howder, AIA, LEED AP ID+C
Regional Managing Principal
As Managing Principal for Gensler’s Northwest region, Randy focuses on transforming our clients’ organizations through new approaches to design, research, and experience. He previously served as Managing Director of the firm’s San Francisco office and was a founding leader of Gensler’s global Technology practice area. His award-winning work is highly regarded and influential in the technology sector and across multiple other industries, and Randy has been a featured speaker at international design conferences like SXSW, the Design Management Institute, CoreNet Global, and NeoCon. He has also written about design and urban issues in the Bay Area and beyond in HuffPost and the San Francisco Chronicle, and his work has been featured in notable publications including Interior Design, Metropolis, Fast Company, Forbes, and The Economist. He currently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board of the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning and the board of the Bay Area Council. Randy completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and earned his Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
