Fenway Center

Boston, Massachusetts

In partnership with Meredith Management and IQHQ, Gensler is designing an ambitious air-rights development that will span the Massachusetts Turnpike between Brookline Avenue and Beacon Street. One of the first over-the-Pike projects to be built in Boston in nearly 40 years, Phase 2 of Fenway Center is uniquely poised to repair the city’s urban fabric by reconnecting two iconic neighborhoods and dramatically improving the aesthetic character of an area that has long been defined by the major highway that runs through it. Comprised of two buildings housing 720,000 SF of lab/office space, the project signifies a major expansion of the city’s research economy outside of Kendall Square, in Cambridge. Ample public amenities include retail space, new pedestrian pathways, over an acre of landscaped open space, and connections to transit, collectively designed to activate the streetscape and enliven the site and its surroundings.
