As the epicenter for its booming East Asian operations, the downtown Seoul headquarters represents a departure from the predictable model of a suburban corporate campus. Gensler designed the new workspace to combine efficiency with a sense of fun. The Korean alphabet is the design’s unifying element, rendered in creative and informative ways throughout the office. Natural wood columns and beams along with traditionally inspired wall patterns further express the local culture, while sleek, modern fixtures add a global feel. Work zones are then delineated by colors from the company’s logo palette, each reflecting a workgroup’s identity. Amenities include a game room, cafeteria, library and sleeping rooms.
