Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg Headquarters
Chicago, Illinois
After three decades in the same space, Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg collaborated with Gensler to create a Chicago headquarters driven by sustainability and a people-first culture. Relocating to The Bell, a newly renovated historic landmark, the design integrates climate action strategies at every scale, from material selection to workplace systems.
Flooring, walls, and finishes were chosen to reduce carbon footprint, and all products adhere to Gensler Product Sustainability (GPS) Standards, ensuring environmentally responsible choices for high-impact materials. The office is on track to become Chicago’s first net zero, carbon neutral law firm and has already earned LEED Platinum certification.
Spanning three floors, the design balances professional gravitas with hospitality-inspired experiences. A speakeasy-style lounge and sculptural stairwell connect staff across levels, while glass-fronted offices, daylight-filled spaces, and adaptable communal areas foster collaboration and connection. This forward-looking headquarters merges timeless design, environmentally responsible strategies, and collaborative experiences, creating a dynamic, human-centered environment that reflects a new model for modern law practice.
