Shoreditch Hotel

London, United Kingdom

Located in a former industrial area undergoing a renaissance, the proposed scheme for this hotel also incorporates nearly 130,000 square feet of commercial office space to accommodate the growing number of tech start-ups in the area. The project embraces Shoreditch’s industrial legacy with a gritty warehouse-style design, massing and details. The predominantly glass façades, mirroring the nearby City district, are framed with black steel set into exposed concrete, with large panes to showcase the activity and vibrancy inside. As the building rises, it steps back and becomes visually lighter—crowned by a cantilevered sky lounge bar that capitalizes on the stunning panoramic views.
