Timbuk2 Portland

Portland, Oregon

After years of selling through third-party specialty shops, this established San Francisco-based messenger bag company sought to develop its own stores to highlight the ability to customize its products and relate to localities. In this prototype design, Timbuk2’s “urban explorer” image is conveyed through materials including raw concrete, brick walls, stained oak and exposed steel, punctuated by bold street graphics. A central display table telling local stories of urban adventure, and a public tire pump and charging stations further the urban connection while engaging the cycling community for which many of the company’s bags are created.
