University Mall

University Mall, part of the Madison Marquette portfolio of retail properties, is a Chapel Hill institution. Since opening in 1973, the mall has seen two renovations, but this latest effort transforms the modest property into an engaging, high-end retail destination. New tenants range from a new Aveda Institute to a kids’ museum and a 60,000-square-foot luxury movie theater. Gensler’s services for the 365,000-square-foot project include assistance with lease planning, designing the exterior storefronts and new tenant interiors, and re-designing the mall’s outdoor public spaces.
