Research Project Name
How African Youth Are Shaping City Futures
What We Did
Africa’s cities are growing fast, and young people are at the center of this change. Most of the continent’s population is young, and in cities across East and West Africa, youth are driving new ideas, businesses, and cultural energy that are shaping how these cities grow.
However, many cities are not meeting young people’s basic needs, like health, economic stability, and opportunities to participate in civic life. This research shows that listening to and working with youth is essential — because their ideas, leadership, and determination are key to building cities that are more fair, resilient, and successful in the future.
