Gensler London is moving. Again!

After two years acclimatising at Basecamp, we have finally moved to our permanent home — No.6 in Moretown. The building has presented us with the challenge and opportunity to think about our need for optimal creative performance through smart workplace design. The space will provide a diverse range of interconnected work settings to fully enable our teams to create together — to deliver industry-leading design for our clients every day.

Moretown is a 560,000-square-foot redevelopment in the heart of Wapping that is now being transformed by Resolution Property into an inspiring design-led campus aimed at businesses operating in media, technology, finance and innovation. The revitalised campus has the potential to become an exciting creative hub extending the City fringe southward from Shoreditch and attracting businesses from different sectors with the shared goals of driving innovation and building on people-focused, talent-led values.

Our architectural, interior design and planning teams worked together to create a space that draws inspiration from the area’s rich tapestry to enhance and visually add to the existing environment. As such, our new home pulls from its diverse inhabitants and its historic locality. We wanted a modern workspace that would act as a creative platform, enabling each and every person within the space to feel empowered. We wanted to design a place that provided us with the tools, resources, materials and knowledge to strengthen our synergistic mindset. A place that would allow us to evolve the way we work. We wanted an environment to prototype concepts, objects, spaces, ideas and behaviours. And we wanted this space to be fluid, industrial and experimental in character; a work in progress — reflecting how we define ourselves in terms of constant change.
