JJ Rivers is a Principal and Co-Managing Director of Gensler’s Washington, D.C. office. Formerly a Studio Director, JJ is a multi-award-winning architect sought after in the market for his versatile project expertise spanning mixed-use development, sports & entertainment, master planning, and retail. In partnership with Kimberly Sullivan, JJ leads an office of over 300 talented professionals, sharing his inspirational mission to create a sustainable future by designing diverse experiences for every type of user. He has showcased immense impact on advancing resilient design and development, which can be seen throughout his portfolio leading multiple net-zero designs on some of the largest projects in the nation. He holds a Master of Architecture and Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Maryland.
