As Technical Director in Gensler’s Detroit office, Randy brings more than two decades of experience across a wide range of project types and scales. Since joining the firm in 1999, he has played a key role in many of the office’s most significant projects, partnering with developers, municipalities, and corporations alike.

Randy’s expertise spans core & shell design, interiors, and historic renovations, with a portfolio that includes high-rise and suburban office buildings, airport terminals, automotive supplier testing laboratories, and automotive retail facilities. His work includes the adaptive reuse of Detroit’s historic Book Depository as well as technical contributions to global icons such as Shanghai Tower.

With deep knowledge of modern and historic construction techniques and building codes, Randy is known for elevating both design and delivery through his technical leadership. A member of the International Code Council, he is committed to advancing best practices that ensure thoughtful, high-performing outcomes across every project.
