Hospitality Leader, Principal

As a Principal in Gensler’s Los Angeles office and a leader of the firm’s global Hospitality practice, Tom is charged with providing overall direction and quality for the projects undertaken within his group, ensuring that the Hospitality practice achieves great design, innovation, and strong client service.

Tom launched Gensler’s Hospitality practice in the late 1990s when he led a comprehensive renovation of The Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows and has since grown it to an international scale. He has been responsible for a number of complex hotel projects including the Regent Beverly Wilshire, Marriott Waiohai Beach Club, the Kimpton Hotel, and The Beverly Hilton.

His well-rounded experience — designer, project architect, and project manager — gives him a comprehensive understanding of complex hospitality projects and insight across all phases of development. He excels at translating client vision into something unique, successful, and, most importantly, real.

A Registered Architect, Tom is currently a member of the AIA Design Awards Committee. He was elected to join AIA’s College of Fellows in 2016 and was inducted into the Hospitality Design Platinum Circle in 2025, recognizing his lasting impact on the industry.
