To expand its global presence, Korean fast fashion brand 8Seconds partnered with Gensler to develop a prototype for its new stores in Shanghai and Seoul. The design concept, “K-groove,” conveys energy and attitude befitting 8Seconds’ brand and apparel. In Korea, the brand opened its redesigned store in Seoul’s Myeongdong district. 8Seconds’ first overseas flagship in Shanghai targets the Chinese mass market by inviting customers to experience a Korean aesthetic and way of life with K-style cosmetics, accessories, cartoon merchandise, nail salons and an ice cream parlor. Both stores house the label’s menswear and womenswear over multiple floors. Simple, bold signage coupled with whimsical graphics complete the immersive lifestyle destination.
