Since 2019, Gensler has been working closely with this financial services firm across its global real estate portfolio, with Hong Kong as a key component of its portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region. When a projected growth in headcount prompted a rethink of their current space, the client saw an opportunity to move to a more strategic location in Hong Kong’s central business district. In moving to One Exchange Square, there was an opportunity to not only increase headcount but also to evolve their “neighbourhood” strategy. This meant moving their private offices to the core, allowing natural light to extend further into the space for all employees. Additionally, the client utilized the building’s rounded corners to significantly expand their town square space. In the town square, a variety of versatile furniture transforms the space for events, casual gatherings, or relaxation. The transformation presents a new look and enhanced branding for visitors. The new workplace is a vibrant environment that demonstrates Gensler’s unique ability to leverage learnings from its experience in London and New York, working closely with the client to deliver a workplace that employees are proud to move to.
