CHALLENGE
The hospitality landscape today is driven by cultural storytelling and regenerative design, redefining luxury beyond opulence. Hotels are forging deeper connections with travellers by collaborating with local communities to create immersive, hyper-localized experiences. Rewilding efforts restore native ecosystems, while climate-responsive architecture enhances sustainability. True luxury now lies in meaning and impact — revitalizing landscapes and enriching the communities they call home.

SOLUTION
The project integrates heritage preservation and regenerative design to transform a 5.7-hectare site in Davao. Sustainable materials, including porous asphalt, banana leaves, and a sponge city concept, address flooding and boost biodiversity. Preserving the heritage building avoids demolition, reducing carbon emissions. The master plan anticipates Davao’s rapid growth, incorporating adaptable spaces for tourism and commerce. Cultural elements such as green spaces and a history museum honor local heritage, fostering community connection and sustainability in harmony.

IMPACT
With sustainability at its core, the project revitalizes Davao’s landscape by mitigating flooding, conserving wildlife, and transforming underutilized spaces. Flood mitigation benefits thousands of employees and locals, while preserved heritage buildings celebrate community identity. Green rooftops and sponge-like surfaces absorb rainwater while enriching ecosystems. Preserving the heritage building minimizes environmental impact, serving as a carbon-conscious model. By blending cultural storytelling, sustainable innovation, and adaptability, the project fosters a harmonious connection between business, the environment, and the people of Davao.
