Dallas County Records Building Renovation and Addition

Dallas, Texas

At the beginning phases of the Dallas County Records complex project, Gensler’s design team was highly aware of the historical importance of these buildings. The complex consists of three historic buildings: The Criminal Courts building, the Records building, and the annex. The preservation and renovation celebrate the historic landmark’s distinctive architecture, while modernizing it for efficiency.

This comprehensive process conserves and enhances not only the building’s facades, but also several important public spaces which will retain their historic character and appearance. Both Gensler and Dallas County agreed that they owed it to the community to make historical preservation their top priority.

Targeting LEED-NC New Construction Gold and WELL Silver, these programs highlight Dallas County’s commitment to the community by demonstrating their stewardship to both the county taxpayers as well as their employees.
