Hossley, a lighting and controls technology company, hired Gensler to create new space to house a showroom and offices in a historic building in downtown Austin. Experiencing exponential growth, Hossley needed to relocate to a space better suited to displaying their product offerings and supporting their employees. The resulting design is clean, modern, and minimal, in direct contrast to the historic character of the building. Perimeter brick walls are left exposed and the existing concrete floor slab has been polished. Hossley’s goal was to create a lab where work, display, learning, entertainment, and networking can all occur seamlessly. Gensler’s open office design, sparing use of glass, and warm accents enable the space to be flexible and inviting.
