Following Gensler’s successful NBA retail fit-out projects in Melbourne, London, Paris, and Berlin, the firm worked with Lids to design the Sydney flagship at 5 Martin Place. Located in one of Sydney’s most iconic heritage sandstone buildings, the former Commonwealth Bank built in 1913, the Gensler team worked closely with heritage architects, TKD, and structural engineers, Cantilever, to seamlessly install retail fixtures that were unable to be physically fixed to the heritage fabric. NBA’s iconic bright whites and playful colours contrast with the site’s unique historic Australian architecture, bringing a truly local presence to the global brand.
