Project Color Corps Pop-Up

Chicago, Illinois

At NeoCon, Project Color Corps (PCC) transformed a 300-square-foot space into a vibrant pop-up installation, bringing its mission of building community through public art to life. Created to launch PCC’s new Chicago chapter and inspire nearly 60,000 attending designers to volunteer, the pop-up demonstrated that even a small footprint can have a big impact.

Anchored in the theme of “Kid Brain,” the pop-up offered a refreshing contrast to the surrounding showrooms, inviting visitors into a childlike world of freedom, spontaneity, and fearless creativity. Soft seating encouraged pause and reflection within an immersive color wash, where floor-to-ceiling mirrored walls layered with student quotes enhanced the experience. A feature mural, painted by local artists and Gensler’s brand team, was designed for reuse and later gifted to the YWCA Evanston–North Shore.

The results were tangible: PCC gained new Chicago volunteers, engaged regional sponsors, and secured an invitation to return to NeoCon in 2026. This momentum helped jump-start the local chapter and underscores Gensler’s long-standing partnership with PCC on projects across the U.S.
