Technip Energies
Houston, Texas
CHALLENGE
As the energy sector accelerates toward decarbonization and digital transformation, companies are rethinking their workplaces to demonstrate sustainability leadership and attract top talent. In Houston’s evolving energy corridor, this shift demands environments that enable innovation, well‑being, and operational efficiency. Technip Energies sought to consolidate its Houston footprint and create a next-generation workplace that reflects its sustainability commitments, elevates the employee experience, and maintains flexibility for future growth.
SOLUTION
Gensler partnered with Technip Energies to deliver a modular, activity-based workplace within the LEED Platinum-certified West Memorial Place campus. The design prioritized sustainability through low-carbon furniture and finishes, strategic material reuse, and circular product selection. Smart building technologies, including daylighting sensors, occupancy controls, and real-time energy tracking, optimize energy performance. Biophilic elements, advanced air quality systems, and ergonomic lighting enhance well-being, while collaborative hubs and an Innovation Center foster creativity and cross-functional engagement.
IMPACT
The redesign has reduced Technip Energies’ carbon footprint, positioning the company as a leader in sustainable workplace design. Targeting LEED Platinum for Interiors and Operations, LEED Zero, and ISO 50001 in the future, the project strengthens sustainability reporting and operational protocols, enabling measurable progress toward carbon reduction goals. The new headquarters delivers an environment that boosts productivity, attracts top talent, and reinforces Technip Energies’ commitment to innovation, sustainability, and employee well-being.
